Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche

Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche will be giving a public talk, Guru Rinpoche: the Buddha For This Time, on the evening of Monday 27 January, 7.30pm – 9.00pm.

Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche is a highly realised lama from the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. He was born in Kham in Eastern Tibet. His father was the incarnation of Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa. Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche’s main root teacher was Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo Chokyi Lodrö, regarded widely as the most outstanding master of the twentieth century. He also received teachings from Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, with whom he then travelled to the West. Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche was a Member of the Tibetan Parliament for the region of Kham from 1994 to 1996 and was re-elected in 2001 and 2006 to the Parliament in exile.
