Rigpa’s centre in Sydney is an important centre for the study and practice of the ancient wisdom tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, and will be so for many decades to come.

The renowned teacher Mingyur Rinpoche has said, ‘If you were to ask how beneficial it is to create a place where people go to gain peace and happiness in their minds, I would say that the benefit is enormous. Why? Because most of our problems are, in fact, caused by our minds. Therefore, building a place where we can find peace and happiness in our minds can only be beneficial, in the widest possible sense.’

Our National Centre is located at 158 Australia St Newtown, Sydney. The building is an old church located in a beautiful park in inner Sydney. It has been recently renovated to transform it into a light and spacious environment perfect for studying and practicing Buddhism. It's only a few train stops from the city and close to vibrant cafes, shops and Sydney university.

We are currently fundraising to repair the unsafe 100 year old stairs and open up our beautiful rooftop terrace and install new balustrades for safety and compliance requirements. We need $100,000 to complete this. Please give generously to help open up this amazing space for practice, contemplation and gathering for our community.

Rigpa Australia’s National Centre at 158 Australia Street, Newtown is a project of the Rigpa Fellowship Building Fund, a deductible gift recipient (DGR) endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office ABN: 62 003 584 385. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
