What Meditation Really Is | One Day Workshop
If you have been meaning to start a daily meditation practice but your busy life has kept interfering, then this one day workshop is designed for you! It will give you time to catch your breath and the tools and understanding you need to start developing a daily meditation practice.
More people than ever are experiencing the benefits of meditation, and now meditation (and mindfulness) have become an invaluable tool for modern people from all walks of life. These meditation techniques came from over 2,000 years of Buddhist wisdom and can also be experienced, not only as a tool for modern living but also as a true spiritual path.
Aimed at those newer to meditation and Tibetan Buddhism, this One Day Workshop is based on the best selling book ‘The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying’ and introduces the wisdom and practical meditation instructions of Tibetan Buddhism. You will gain a genuine experience of meditation and practical information to begin a daily meditation practice.
Led by experienced meditators and comprising of videos, small group discussion and space for meditation practice, this workshop has been developed over many years to offer a spacious yet ample introduction to centuries old authentic meditation practices.
Divided into four sessions over one day (9:30am – 4:30pm) you will be introduced to topics such as:
- What is meditation and why meditate?
- The meditation posture and the method
- The View
- Different methods of meditation available
- The benefits of meditation
- How to bring the benefits of meditation into daily life
The What Meditation Really Is one day workshop will provide you with an introduction to authentic Tibetan Buddhist meditation and is recommended for anyone wishing to join our Meditation and Compassion in our Daily Lives weekly programme on Tuesdays.
